CONTRACTING SERVICES
A-Line Corrosion assists general contractors and owner-operators install designed cathodic protection systems for pipeline construction projects, facility upgrade or maintenance projects.

If your contracting/operator firm is looking to install a cathodic protection system previously designed by another engineering firm for a pipeline, tank, or facility project, see below for how A-Line Corrosion can assist.
ESTIMATES & BUDGETING

A-Line Corrosion reviews the provided design and specifications to offer estimates and budgets for the specified materials and CP system installations. A-Line calls on over 40 year's of experience in the field between the specialist and project managers to ensure that the estimated provided to the general contractor meets the specifications for selected materials, installation, testing, and final commissioning.

Our estimates outline our specific scopes and estimated line items and services for the duration of the project.
MATERIAL & TESTING SUBMITTALS
A-Line provides the general contractor with the material & testing submittals to the project engineer ensuring the products provided and utilized in the project are correct and as designed by the corrosion engineering firm responsible for the cathodic protection design.

The testing submittal ensures that the contractor executes all testing required during the project by the engineer and ensures accurate data turn-over at the end.

MATERIAL PROCUREMENT
A-Line sources all necessary materials as approved by the project engineer. Materials are generally shipped to the laydown yard for pipeline and facility projects. A-Line can either visit the site or use photographs sent by the GC to confirm that the materials onsite are the correct materials in the correct quantities.

A-Line can inform the GC on which materials require special handling or storage to maintain product integrity.

To the left are example photos sent from general contractors to ensure the proper materials were onsite. Materials are generally recommended to be stored within a Conex box at the project laydown yard if a warehouse is not available.

INSTALLATION GUIDANCE SERVICES
A-Line offers installation guidance and assistance services to train the GC's field crew in proper installation procedures to meet the project specifications. This is most commonly utilized on the test station components including galvanic cathodic protection systems consisting of multiple anodes beds designed to be distributed along the route of the pipeline or around a facility.

Providing installation training with routine inspection and guidance visits greatly reduces the cost as the general contractor is able to self-install the designed CP system requiring less scope to be completed by a cathodic protection contractor firm. This also allows A-Line to increase the GC field team's knowledge and experience regarding cathodic protection by providing onsite training and also reduces costs by reducing errors and dig-ups.

After the below-grade components are installed by the general contractor, A-Line will terminate the wiring in the test station per the design to ensure the test station is installed and wired correctly and as designed.

The examples to the right show projects that pipeline contractors completed - self-installing the third-party designed cathodic protection systems after a couple hours of training from A-Line Corrosion.

INSTALLATION SERVICES
For projects where an impressed current cathodic protection system has been designed, A-Line offers turn-key installation of the system. Generally these systems are deep-wells, but can consist of traditionally excavated anode beds. If a traditionally excavated anode bed is called-for in the design, the general contractor generally handles the earthwork and A-Line provides the cathodic protection knowledge and labor to install the above-ground components such as rectifiers and junction boxes.

If I deep-well system is called for in the design, A-Line will work with one of it's fully licenses & insured drilling subcontractors to provide the well in which the designed anodes are placed. A-Line will also complete all above-ground electrical box and wiring work, excluding AC services that are generally to be completed by others.
